Reports overview — and why you might not see them
Reports require both the right plan (Middle Market or Custom) AND the View Reports permission on your role. If either is missing, the Reports section doesn't appear in the nav. Available reports include Form Insights, Link Performance, Submission throughput, and Data Credit Usage.
In short: Reports are gated by plan and role. Middle Market and Custom plans include Reports; below that, Reports aren’t available. On those plans, your role also needs the View Reports permission to see the section.
Why you might not see Reports
Two reasons the Reports section is missing from your nav:
- Your plan doesn’t include Reports. Reports require Middle Market, Custom, or equivalent. Propel and Propel+ don’t have it.
- Your role doesn’t have the View Reports permission. Even on plans with Reports, your individual role determines whether the section is visible to you. The default Manager role has it; the default User role typically does not.
If a colleague sees Reports and you don’t, the most likely cause is your role. If nobody on your account sees Reports, your plan is the cause.
What reports are available
On plans with Reports access:
- Form Insights — view counts, completion rates, and conversion per Form
- Link Performance — per-Link metrics for understanding which campaigns and partners produce results
- Submission Throughput — volume trends over time
- Data Credit Usage — per-vendor consumption and trends — see Tracking Data Credit usage
Each report has its own filters (date range, Form, Link, etc.) and exports.
Upgrading to access Reports
If you want Reports and you’re on Propel or Propel+:
-
1
Open billing.
-
2
Upgrade to Middle Market or Custom — see Upgrading your plan.
-
3
Reports appears in the nav for any user whose role has the View Reports permission.
Granting Reports access to a teammate
If you’re already on a Reports-enabled plan and want a teammate to see Reports:
- Edit their role to include the View Reports permission, or
- Assign them a role that already has it (Manager typically does)
See Default roles and Creating custom roles.
What Reports doesn’t do
Reports surfaces data already in SALT — it doesn’t create new data. If a metric isn’t tracked at the Submission level, it doesn’t appear in Reports either. For specific custom analytics, consider:
- Bulk exporting Submissions to your own analytics tool (Bulk export)
- Using Webhooks or Zapier to stream events into a data warehouse
- Building dashboards externally with the data SALT provides
Common questions
My plan was upgraded but Reports isn’t showing yet. Refresh the app or sign out and back in. If Reports still doesn’t appear, verify with billing that the upgrade processed and that your role has the View Reports permission.
Can I get a single report on a lower plan? Reports is bundled — individual reports aren’t sold separately on lower-tier plans. Upgrade or use bulk export as a workaround.
Will Reports include data from before I had the plan? Yes — Reports show all available historical data once unlocked. The data was always being captured; you just couldn’t see it in this format until the upgrade.
What’s the data scope of Reports? Reports cover the data on your agency.
