Creating form links

Every form in SALT has at least one link — a shareable URL that consumers use to start a submission. This guide covers creating a new link, choosing who gets notified, branding it, and replacing the primary link.

Customizing a Link's branding

Each Link inherits the agency's color theme and illustration settings by default. To customize a Link — for a referral partner, a campaign, or a different audience — open the Link's branding settings and override the agency defaults. Changes apply only to consumers visiting that specific Link's URL; other Links keep their own settings.

Embedding a Link

Embed a specific Link when you want per-Link branding and attribution rather than embedding the Form generally. Useful for referral partners, paid campaigns, or any place where you want the embed to track separately from your other shares.

Form subscribers and notifications per Link

Each user on your account has notification preferences per Link — for leads (consumer started the Form) and submissions (consumer finished). When a Link is created, the assigned user gets emails by default and everyone else is silent. Change preferences per Link per user as needed.

Setting the primary Link

Every Form has exactly one primary Link — the canonical URL used by the Form's QR code and a few integrations. The first Link you create on a Form is automatically primary. To change which Link is primary, open the Link you want and click Make primary. SALT also auto-promotes another Link if you archive the current primary.

Sharing a Link via QR code

Every Link has a QR code you can download as a PNG. Print it on business cards, lobby signs, or campaign materials. The QR resolves to the Link's URL, so it works the same as the URL itself — and is stable for the life of the Link.

Social share customization (Open Graph)

Open Graph metadata controls the title, description, and image that appear when your Link is shared on Slack, Facebook, iMessage, and other platforms. Configure Open Graph at the Form level for a default, then override per Link for campaign-specific previews.

Tracking referral sources via Links

Per-source attribution in SALT comes from using a separate Link per campaign, partner, or channel. Each Link tracks its own view count, lead count, and submission count. From there, filter your Submissions list by Link to see exactly what each source produced.

What happens when you archive a Link

Archiving a Link disables its URL — visitors get a "form not available" page — but every Submission that came through it is preserved. SALT may also auto-promote another active Link to primary if you archive the current primary. You can re-enable an archived Link at any time.
