Learn your way around our newest feature, Links!

Updated over a week ago

What are Links?

SALT's new feature, Links, addresses the limitations of creating and managing multiple connections within a single SALT Form. Previously, users could not easily customize or manage multiple individual Links associated with a single SALT Form, which restricted flexibility and efficiency in Form management and sharing.

With the introduction of Links, users can now create, customize, and manage multiple Links within a single Form, each serving distinct purposes with its own introductory text and referral image.

What problem does Links solve?

This enhancement allows for more tailored communications and streamlined management, making it easier for users to provide specific information to different audiences via individual Links. Furthermore, the ability to archive unused Links helps maintain an organized and efficient system, reducing clutter and enhancing usability.

Links are nested within a SALT Form and can be customized and sent out individually. This addition enhances the functionality and flexibility of SALT Forms by enabling users to create multiple Links associated with a singular Form. This addition makes managing various Links within your SALT Forms a more streamlined and effective process.

Each link can serve a unique purpose and is equipped with its own Introduction and Referral Image.

⚙️ To access the Links feature:

  1. Navigate to the Forms section.

  2. Select the Form you want to manage links for.

  3. Switch over to the Links tab within the form.

Getting Started with Links

To add a new Link, start by clicking the "New Link" button and enter the necessary details, Name & Assignee, associated with the Link. You will then be brought to the Link's "Settings" section where you can adjust the general settings for that specific Link.

When editing an existing link, find the Link you want to modify from the list associated with the Form and click the "Settings" button. You can then update the link details as listed.

↪ Link Settings

The majority of a Link's settings, such as Name, Assignment, Notifications, Branding, Open Graph, and Embed settings, are located within the Link itself, under its "Settings."

When creating multiple Links, we highly recommend customizing unique introduction texts and images for each Link to ensure that your consumers receive tailored information based on the Link they are accessing.

Configuring the [Intro] and [Referral Image] for each Link involves a different process as these options are not found in the main Link Settings but are instead nested within the Form's Introduction step. To edit the Introduction or Referral Image, you'll need to switch back to the Form's Steps tab.

⚙️ To configure the [Intro] and [Referral Image] for each Link:

  1. Navigate to the Form's Steps tab.

  2. Select the Introduction step.

  3. Use the "Link" dropdown menu to select the Link you'd like to customize.

  4. Edit the Intro text and Referral image to your liking.

This custom introduction text will be displayed when the link is accessed, helping to provide context and information specific to that link.

↪ Link Assignee & Notifications

When a Link is assigned to an individual, that user is locked into receiving notification updates. If that Link is reassigned to a different individual, the new user will now be locked into notifications, but keep in mind that by default, the previous assignee will continue to receive notifications.

If needed, you can make adjustments to the Assignment & Notifications in that Link's Settings > Assignment/Notifications section.

Archiving Links

You can archive a link that is no longer in use to streamline your Links view. Whether the Link was created for testing, linked to a former employee, or simply no longer relevant, proper archiving helps maintain an organized, efficient, and secure "Links" view.

⚙️ To archive a Link:

  1. Navigate to the Forms section.

  2. Select the Form you want to archive Link(s) for.

  3. Switch over to the Links tab within the form.

  4. Select Settings next to the Link you'd like to archive.

  5. Select Archive.

To access archived Links, select Show Archived Links.

Sharing Links

SALT provides you with several options to share a Form's Links all of which are stipulated below.

When using the quick-share modules, use the dropdown menus to select a Form and Link for sharing. You can then copy/paste the URL or QR code, or send directly through email or social media.

You can access sharing options from your SALT home page, your Forms section, or from directly within a Form's "Links" tab.

🧂SALTY TIP: Exposure Stats will be displayed in the "Share" module on the home page as well as within a Form's "Links" tab, identifying how many starts and completed submissions are associated with that Link.

Important Changes & Recommendations

[No Confirmation/Reminders Per Link - New Form required]

There will no longer be an option to adjust the Confirmation or Reminders schedule on a "per link" basis. If you'd like to create a new Confirmation/Reminder schedule, you'll need to create a new Form.

[Phased Out Forms]

Private/Personal Forms, previously located in the "My Forms" section, will be phased out as Links deems this feature unnecessary going forward.

For Forms that are still designated as private, you'll see the Only Visible To You indicator. Once that Form is selected, you'll be presented with a button at the top-right to change to full agency access. Be aware that once Share with Everyone has been selected, you won't be able to reverse this action.

The concept of Primary Forms is also being phased out as this is no longer relevant with the newly released Links feature. Note that if you subscribed to SALT prior to 2019, you may still see the Primary indicator.

[Legacy URLs]

For Legacy SALT subscribers, prospects may experience issues accessing URLs as the new Links feature is released. To remedy this access issue, you'll need to share the newly generated Link with your prospect.

  1. Navigate to your Form.

  2. Copy the URL provided.

  3. Re-share with prospect(s).

No action is needed for "Legacy URLs" embedded on websites as these will continue to function as normal.

[Streamlining Current 'Forms' Section]

Our recommended best practice with this newly introduced feature is to consolidate all of your current SALT Forms into ideally, 1 singular Form. Then, use Links to branch off from that main Form into each of your agency's personal needs (each producer, referral partners, etc.).

If you have a higher number of Forms and are overwhelmed by the thought of consolidation, please contact our support team for additional recommendations/options.
