Security and Account Protection at SALT
Updated over a week ago

At SALT, the security of our users and their data is our top priority. We employ a range of measures to ensure that all interactions on our platform are secure and that sensitive information is protected.

Here’s an overview of our current security protocols:

Removal of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from Email Notifications

To safeguard user privacy, SALT automatically removes PII from all email notifications. This ensures that sensitive information does not get exposed through email channels, which are often vulnerable to unauthorized access.

Contact Verification and State Filter Steps

As part of our security features within the Form's questions, SALT incorporates contact verification and state filters:

  • Contact Verification: This feature allows agents to require prospects to confirm access to their mobile phones. This step acts as a security measure to verify the identity of the user.

  • State Filter: This feature enables agents to restrict form submissions to users within specific states, ensuring that forms are not filled out by individuals outside the targeted areas.

Strict Policy on Social Security Numbers (SSNs)

SALT has a stringent policy against collecting Social Security Numbers (SSNs) due to the high risk of identity fraud associated with this information. Despite carriers mandating SSN collection, SALT does not accept the liability and risk involved. Our team is actively working on preventing any field in a SALT form from accepting SSNs to maintain the highest level of security.

We strongly recommend that agencies facing pressure from carriers to collect SSNs discuss secure collection methods directly with the carriers, as SALT cannot offer advice or support for this process.

Spam Mitigation Tools

To protect against spam and unauthorized access, SALT offers a comprehensive suite of spam mitigation tools (Learn more here):

  • SpamFilter: This tool checks a subset of conditions to identify and filter out spam submissions.

  • SpamBlocker: An aggressive IP blocker that prevents known bad IP addresses from accessing SALT forms.

  • Google reCAPTCHA: This frontline tool helps ensure that users are human by requiring them to complete a CAPTCHA test, although it may not always be 100% effective.

Compliance with US Security Laws

SALT is fully compliant with US security laws, ensuring that our security practices meet national standards for protecting user data.

Commitment to Security

At SALT, we understand the critical importance of data security and are committed to continuous improvement of our security measures. By using advanced tools and strict policies, we strive to protect our users from data breaches, fraud, and spam.
