About Roles & Hierarchy

Overview

SALT has moved from individual user permissions to a Role-based system, giving your agency a simpler, safer way to manage access.

Role Descriptions

  • Admin: Full account management, including Billing
  • Manager: Broad management access, excluding Billing
  • User: Limited access for day-to-day work

Role Availability by Plan

  • All Plans: Every account includes an Admin role that cannot be edited or deleted. Admins have full access to every aspect of the SALT account.
  • Propel: Comes with two fixed roles — Manager and User.
  • Propel+: Starts with Manager and User, but agencies can edit those roles and create one additional custom role.
  • Middle Market: Starts with Manager and User, but agencies can edit those roles and create up to two additional custom roles.

Custom Roles

  • Propel: Limited to the default roles (Admin, Manager, User).
  • Propel+ & Middle Market: Support the creation of custom roles that can be tailored to fit your agency’s structure (e.g., Producers, CSRs, Intake staff).
  •  Unlock the ability to create and customize roles tailored to your agency’s needs

Role Hierarchy

Roles are ordered Admin > Manager > User.

  • Lower roles cannot edit higher roles, even if given “manage users” permission.
    • Example: A User with the “Invite users” permission can add new Users, but cannot promote themselves or others to Manager or Admin.

Billing & Data Provider Access

  • Only Admins can enable/disable Data Providers (Estated, Fenris, MeasureOne) as this permission level is required to access the Billing section where these integrations are located.
  • Once enabled, Managers with form edit rights can toggle data provider enrichment on/off at the form level.
