PL Rating integration guide
PL Rating is a comparative rater integration covering personal lines (auto, home). Connect with your PL Rating credentials, toggle on the Forms that should send, and submit — rating responses are stored on the Submission for review.
In short: Connect PL Rating with credentials, toggle on for relevant Forms, and submit. Quotes come back per carrier and are visible on the Submission.
What PL Rating covers
PL Rating focuses on personal lines — primarily auto and home. The integration pushes:
- Insured contact and profile information
- Drivers (for auto)
- Vehicles (for auto)
- Properties (for home)
- Coverage preferences and requested limits
- Prior policy details (where captured)
PL Rating returns carrier-by-carrier quotes for the lines you’ve selected.

What “occupation” doesn’t go through
PL Rating’s standard rating flow doesn’t accept every field SALT captures. Occupation is a notable example — SALT captures it for some Forms but PL Rating doesn’t include it in standard rating requests. The field stays in SALT for export/follow-up but isn’t part of the quote.
If you need a SALT field to reach PL Rating that isn’t currently mapped, contact support to discuss extending the field map.
Troubleshooting
Most PL Rating issues are one of:
- Integration status — disabled or needs-reauth.
- Form toggle — PL Rating not enabled on the Form.
- Missing data — PL Rating requires certain fields per line; missing them causes rejection.
- Carrier-level rejection — individual carriers may decline. Check the per-carrier reasons in the response.
The integration’s recent error log surfaces vendor-specific errors.
Common questions
Can I run PL Rating and EZLynx on the same Submission? Yes — both can be enabled on the same Form. Each runs independently and returns its own response.
How long does PL Rating take to return quotes? Usually seconds, occasionally up to a minute under load. If the response isn’t back after a few minutes, check the error log.
Does PL Rating cost Data Credits? No. Comparative raters don’t consume Data Credits.
Does PL Rating handle commercial lines? PL Rating focuses on personal lines (PL = Personal Lines). For commercial rating, use a different rater appropriate for that segment.
