Downloading invoices
Invoices are listed in your agency billing settings. Each invoice has a downloadable PDF generated by Stripe. Older invoices may live behind Stripe's data retention window — most agencies need only the last 12-24 months for normal accounting.
In short: Open billing, find the invoice list, and click to download the PDF. Invoices include the full line-item breakdown — plan, add-ons, Data Credits, taxes.
Where invoices live
Each charge SALT runs against your card produces an invoice. Invoices include:
- The plan charge for the cycle
- Add-on charges (additional user seats, Data Credit packs)
- Taxes (if applicable)
- Any coupons or credits applied
- Total and payment status

What’s on the invoice PDF
A standard SALT invoice includes:
- Your agency name and billing address
- The billing period covered
- Line-item breakdown of charges
- Total amount, taxes, payment status
- Stripe’s invoice number for reference
- Receipt of payment if charged
This is the document your accounting team needs.
Sending an invoice to your accountant
A few options:
- Forward the email — Stripe sends a receipt email to your billing contact for each charge. Forward that.
- Download the PDF — get it from the billing settings and email it.
- Add a billing-only contact — some configurations support a separate billing email so receipts go directly to accounting.
Older invoices
Stripe retains invoice history for a long window — typically several years. Within that window, you can pull any past invoice on demand.
If you need very old invoices that have rolled off, contact support.
Pending vs paid
You may see invoices listed as pending or draft:
- Pending: invoice has been generated but the charge hasn’t completed yet (renewal in progress, ACH clearing, etc.)
- Paid: charge succeeded
- Past due / delinquent: charge failed; payment method needs attention
A pending invoice is normal during a renewal cycle. If it stays pending for more than a day, check your payment method.
Common questions
I need a custom invoice format for my AP system. Can I customize? Standard invoices follow Stripe’s template. For non-standard formats (W-9 attached, custom PO references, etc.), contact billing support to discuss.
Can I get an invoice in advance of a charge? Pre-billing invoices aren’t a built-in feature for self-serve plans. Custom plans may include alternative billing arrangements — talk to support.
My invoice shows charges I didn’t expect. Common explanations: Data Credit auto-reload, additional user seats added during the cycle, plan upgrade with proration. Each line item identifies the charge.
Can I dispute a charge on the invoice? Yes — contact billing support with the invoice number and the disputed line item. Real refunds for legitimate issues are processed promptly.
