Using 'Notes' Step to Add Flexible Content to SALT Forms
If you’d like to ask your client a question that's not currently offered in the SALT question library, the best solution is to utilize Custom Questions.
However, in the instances where Custom Questions doesn't fully meet the needs or presents limitations, the Notes step provides a flexible workaround.

The Notes form step is a fully customizable, free-form text field found in the [Conclusion] category when editing your form. It allows you to display additional information or ask open-ended questions outside of SALT’s built-in database.
Recommended Scenarios:
Here are a few suggested ways you can use the Notes step to accomplish more with your SALT forms:
- Ask questions that aren’t available in the SALT question library or cannot be added through Custom Questions
- Provide instructions or a checklist, such as a bulleted list of documents to gather
- Include hyperlinks to external resources (e.g., scheduling links, agency tools, or guides)
- Offer personalized tips or recommendations to help guide your prospect through the next steps of the quoting process
