Upload from a phone

On mobile, the upload area gives you options:

  • Take a photo — opens your camera. Snap the document and the photo uploads. Works well for driver’s licenses, insurance cards, and dec page photos.
  • Choose from gallery — pick an existing photo from your phone’s library.
  • Browse files — pick a PDF or image saved on your phone.

For documents like declarations pages or licenses, taking a fresh photo is usually faster than uploading an old one — and the camera capture is consistent.

When upload fails

Common reasons:

  • File too large — over 25 MB. Take a smaller photo or compress the PDF.
  • Wrong format — convert to PDF or save as JPEG/PNG.
  • Slow connection — upload times out. Try Wi-Fi instead of cellular.
  • Browser issue — try a different browser if your current one is misbehaving.

The form usually shows an error message explaining what went wrong.

Tips for clear photos

If you’re photographing a document:

  • Good lighting — natural light works well; harsh shadows make text hard to read
  • Flat surface — avoid wrinkled or curved papers
  • Whole document in frame — don’t crop edges
  • Sharp focus — wait for your camera to focus before snapping
  • High contrast — dark text on light paper

If your agency reads the document later and finds it unreadable, they’ll ask for a re-upload.

What happens after upload

The document is attached to your submission. Your agency:

  • Receives notification that the file is on your record
  • Can view, download, or process it as part of your application
  • May get back to you if they need a clearer copy or a different document

Common questions

Is my document secure? Documents are stored securely. The agency and authorized staff can access them; random users on the internet cannot.

Can I delete a document I uploaded by mistake? The form usually lets you remove a wrong file before submitting. After submitting, contact your agency to delete or replace it.

My HEIC photo from iPhone won’t upload. HEIC is iPhone’s modern photo format but isn’t widely supported. In your iPhone settings (Camera → Formats → Most Compatible), switch to JPEG. Or take a fresh photo within the form’s upload tool, which converts automatically.

Can I upload more than one file per question? Depends on the form. Some upload areas accept multiple files; some accept one. The form will indicate.
