Resuming a saved submission

This article is for consumers. If you started a form and didn't finish, your agency can send you a link to pick up where you left off. The link is valid for 30 minutes after it's sent. If yours expired, just ask for a fresh one.

Updated Apr 29, 2026 For consumer

In short: Your insurance agency can email or text you a fresh link that brings you back to your incomplete form. Click it, and everything you’d already filled in is still there.

If you were in the middle of filling out a form and stopped, your information was saved. To come back, you don’t need to start over — your agency can send you a “continue link” that picks up where you left off.

If you don’t already have one (or yours has expired):

  1. Contact your agency — call, text, or email them. Mention that you started their SALT form and need a link to finish.
  2. They send you a fresh link — usually within a few minutes during business hours.
  3. Click the link — it opens your form right where you stopped.

For security, continue links are valid for 30 minutes from when they’re sent. After that, the link stops working. This prevents someone else from accessing your information if the email or text were forwarded or intercepted.

If your link expired, just ask your agency for a new one — there’s no penalty or limit on resends.

What you’ll see when you click

The form opens at the step you last completed. Everything you’d already entered is pre-filled. You can:

  • Continue forward to the next unanswered step
  • Go back to review or edit earlier answers
  • Save and pause again if you need to step away (your agency can send another link)

If the link doesn’t work:

  • Check that you’re using the most recent link — your agency may have sent multiple over time
  • Make sure you’re within the 30-minute window since it was sent
  • Try a different browser or device if the link opens to an error
  • Ask the agency to resend — fresh links are free and easy to generate

Don’t want to continue?

If you’ve changed your mind:

  • Just ignore the link — it expires on its own
  • Contact the agency if you want to formally cancel your inquiry, especially if they’ve been calling
  • No further action is required from you — your incomplete form sits in their system until they archive it

Common questions

My information is partly filled in but I want to start over. Tell your agency. They can archive the incomplete form and send you a fresh link to a new form. Don’t try to “delete” your previous answers yourself; the agency handles it on their end.

Will I get charged for filling out the form? Filling out the form is free for you — SALT bills your agency, not you. Your only commitment is the time to answer the questions.

Why does my agency need so much information? Insurance pricing depends on a lot of factors. The questions are the agency’s way of getting an accurate picture of your situation so they can quote you accurately.

I don’t remember which agency this was from. The link in your email or text shows the agency’s name and branding. If you’ve truly forgotten, contact whoever introduced you to the form — they can put you back in touch.
